Lead Growth is Not Scaling

Lead Growth
is Not Scaling

Your numbers look great but your growth stopped. Every time you add budget, efficiency falls apart, so you pull it back and stay exactly where you were.

Symptom Check

Does Any of this Look Familiar?

  • Your cost per acquisition is healthy and your volume has been flat for multiple quarters.
  • Budget increases produce worse returns, so you roll them back.
  • Your best campaigns are limited by search volume, not by money.
  • Somebody asked what happens if you double the budget and nobody knows.

Why It Happens

Your cost per lead looks great at today's volume and falls apart at twice the budget. Four causes put a ceiling on lead growth.

Your best audience has a fixed size.

High-intent search terms reach the buyers already looking for you each month.

Your sales team is sized for today's volume.

A team that handles 80 leads a month well struggles at 200. Extras go stale and management blames lead quality.

One channel carries the whole program.

Every channel has a ceiling. A new channel needs about 90 days to prove out.

Growth costs more per lead.

Reaching past your best audience raises your cost per lead. Set the profit target with leadership before the extra budget goes live.

Our approach

What We Do About It, and Why

Find the actual ceiling.

We measure available demand against what you already capture. Impression share, total addressable search volume, and audience saturation by channel. You need to know whether you are blocked by money, by demand, or by your own operations.

Set the economics you can live with.

We agree on a target cost per customer with your finance team, and we set one for every level of volume you want to reach.

Build demand above the buyers already searching.

Reaching people who have the problem and have not started shopping yet. This takes longer to pay off and it is the only way past a volume ceiling.

You set the balance between growth and cost.

A $5 cost per conversion might get you three conversions a month. A $1,000 cost per conversion might get you 5,000. Most companies want something in between, and the right point depends on your stage.

Run new channels as funded experiments.

A hypothesis, a budget, a timeline, and a kill date written down in advance. Winners are folded into the core strategy. Losers are shut off with a written explanation of what we learned.

Month to month,
and clients stay anyway.

We have never used annual contracts. Everybody can give us 30 days notice and leave at the end of the month, for any reason. Google tells us our client retention is more than twice the average across their partner agencies, which might seem like a strange result for an agency with no contractual lock-in until you consider what it takes to earn a renewal 12 times a year. Scaling work takes patience from both sides. We have kept clients through it since 2006.

Results

A luxury watch e-tailer with a strong domestic program and nowhere left to grow inside it. We rebuilt their paid strategy around high-performing regions in APAC and the Middle East, then optimized against each market separately instead of treating global as one bucket.

95%
revenue growth over two years
Short-term regional wins turned into year-round volume, which is the part most expansion efforts never reach.
